❤❤I need your help to get out of jail -- and support MDA.‏ ❤❤

If you haven’t already heard the news, I want to let you know I’m going to be spending a little time “behind bars.” — for good!

You see, I’m taking part in the Gastonia LU2015 - Charlotte District to help advance the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s mission to save and improve the lives of people fighting muscle disease. As a MDA Jailbird, I’m working to raise funds — my “bail” — with the help of donations from my business colleagues, associates, friends and family.

Many people aren’t aware that muscle disease is a critical health problem. It takes away everyday abilities like running, dancing, hugging, smiling and even breathing. MDA’s Lock-Up theme reflects the fact that people affected by muscle disease often experience decreased mobility when their muscles stop working. Lock-Up participants like me are “locked up” for one hour, but for the people MDA serves, the loss of mobility — and the limitations on freedom and independence that it can cause — are for life.

The dollars we raise will help MDA fund research to find treatments and cures, and provide life-enhancing programs such as clinics and support groups for the hundreds of thousands of MDA families who are counting on us. The money also will support MDA’s summer camp program, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2015 after having served so many amazing and courageous kids and their families over the past six decades.

Please support my fundraising efforts with a tax-deductible donation. It’s easy — just click on this secure link to make a donation.

Thank you in advance for joining me in the fight against muscle disease. Remember, every jailbreak helps lead to the next research and medical breakthroughs for MDA and the families it serves.

Together, we are progress!

Sincerely,

Diane Friday

P.S. Please help spread the word. Forward this email to your friends and colleagues, and ask your social media friends and followers for their support as well — remember to use the hashtag #MDALockup.
